ALLISON BOHORFOUSH
JEWELRY ARTIST
Copper and Amazonite Pendant For 18 years, Allison has been making jewelry of one kind or another. Beginning with seed beads, copper wire, sterling wire and now fine silver and copper sheet. She uses techniques such as fold forming, repoussé and fine chisel work to enhance the metal. All pieces are one of a kind and have been described by art critics as whimsical. They are surely speaking of the dragonflies, female figures and faces.
While apprenticing in Robert Taylor's coppersmith shop she decided to use his copper scraps to create jewelry. By using these cut away pieces she is inspired by the odd shapes and happy to recycle scrap into art. Brainstorming with her blacksmith husband and coppersmith friend has broadened her skill base and allowed her to incorporate large metal techniques into jewelry. Looking Down

Allison has recently branched out into intricately chiseled wall plaques, jewelry boxes, jewelry hangers, bookmarks, fan pulls and plant hangers. Art Nouveau themes and faces of all kinds adorn these new pieces. Form Fold Bracelet
